17th Century Carved And Ebonised Oak Mule Chest, Dated 18th Century Or Later

17th Century Carved And Ebonised Oak Mule Chest, Dated 18th Century Or Later

This chest is a bit of a mystery. 17th century in style, with tudor gothic strap work, two lower drawers and planked design, this small oak chest is probably late 18th to 19th Century. It is a gorgeous ebonised chest with two drawers - a proto chest of drawers of early construction - hand made, probably by a country carpenter.

This chest is in excellent condition considering the age. It has had a number of repairs over the years and is missing one of the handles on the side. It is in solid usable condition.
