Late Victorian Jacobean Revival Carved Oak Four Draw Desk
A late Victorian - possibly early edwardian - beautifully carved Jacobean revival solid oak desk, with two long and two short drawers, Bobbin turned legs supported but a stretcher.
This desk bears the makers badge of Hewetson, Milner & Thexton Ltd, a successful furniture making business based in Tottenham Court road from the mid 19th century, up until 1907 when the company went bankrupt. . The short drawers have locks with a key.
The desk is in superb condition with very few minor marks commensurate with its age. The top has two very minor, but very solid, settlement splits - see pictures.
