Regency - Late Georgian - Mahogany Chest Of Drawers

Regency - Late Georgian - Mahogany Chest Of Drawers

This gorgeous chest of drawers is approximately 200 years old, and still looks great! We know it is regency based on the carcuss construction and the Reed mouldings that decorate the top and bottom since regency furniture took inspiration from foriegn design, such as the Romans, Greeks and Egyptians. Featuring two short over three long drawers with a classic Georgian style drawer pulls, all raised on bracket feet. It is quite a substantial chest, and would look great in any room.

This chest is in excellent condition for its age, with lovely characterful marks on the top that tell its story. The finish has had a light rejuvenation and wax polish and so looks great, and the drawer runners have been repaired to ensure that the chest can go on for another 200 years. Old worm holes at the back, long since gone, have been treated as a precaution. All in all, this is an excellent chest of drawers.
