Solid Mahogany Early 20th Century Petroleum Board Table

Solid Mahogany Early 20th Century Petroleum Board Table

This is an interesting one. A smart little early 20th century square mahogany table on turned legs. Around the back of the apron, this table bears brass plaque stamped with "The Petroleum Board".

'The Petroleum Board was a non-governmental organisation, established at the outbreak of World War II, to coordinate wartime supplies of petroleum and petroleum products throughout the United Kingdom.' - (Wikipedia, 1/5/22)

With that in mind, I would guess that this table could have been sat at during these discussions of petrol distrubition during the war.

This table is in excellent solid condition, the legs have been painted black at some point, and there is a mark to the top - see photos, but a great looking solid table that is full of history.
