Tall Solid Mahogany Late Victorian, Carved Torchiere Or Jardiniere Stand

Another beautiful piece constructed from a four poster bed post... This time we have a jardiniere or torchiere stand - a plant stand to the rest of us. This would have been converted to a stand when four posters fell from fashion - if only antiques could talk! 

This stand is absolutely gorgeous with barley twist decoration on a turned column. The stand is in excellent condition. It has had a couple of historic repairs to where the legs join the column, but these repairs are solid and do not stand out.
