This Victorian carver chair features a striking combination of mahogany for the seat, back, and front rails, and elm for the arms and legs. An interesting choice of materials that raises the question of why these were used together in its construction. The chair has a lovely age-worn patination to the finish, adding to its character and rustic charm.
Condition Report
The chair shows signs of its history with a number of minor historic repairs. There is some warping to the back legs, giving the chair a slight lean — more noticeable in photos than in real life. All these imperfections only contribute to the chair’s authentic, rustic charm.
The photographs form part of the condition report, so please review them carefully. Further images or a video viewing can be provided on request. Viewings are welcome at our Southampton unit, strictly by appointment.
