Victorian Mahogany, Burr Walnut Inlaid Card Table
Another exquisite piece in superb condition. This elegant Victorian card table dates from C1880 and is as clean as the day it left the workshop. Featuring a stunning quarter book matched burr Walnut veneer top on a solid Mahogany base. The top is inlaid with a gorgeous floral motif and stringing around the edges, which is matched in the frieze. The top twists to reveal a small storage area for storing cards and games, etc. The top folds over to reveal a near perfect green baize that is beautifully tooled around the perimeter. The top stands on an elaborate solid Mahogany Pedestal base joined by four carved columns finished with a central finial. The feet are held on ceramic castors. The top has only very minor marks, very much commensurate with age. It isn't far off museum quality.
