"Willem Coymans" Oil On Canvas By Frans Hals, 20Th Century Copy"
This is another that I'm reluctant to part with. Beautifully executed and an excellent decorative 20th century oil on canvas, this is a copy of the 1645 painting entitled "Willem Coymans" by Frans Hals - a Dutch 17th century portrait painter most famous for his Laughing Cavalier portrait.
Williem Coymans was a young dutch man and member of the prosperous Coymans family of Haarlem. Depicted in rather elegant clothes and a pompom on his hat, he is very much a distinguished gentleman.
The original portrait hangs in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC.
This painting is in excellent condition. The painted pine frame is similar to the frame the original hangs in, and is also in very good condition minus a few minor marks.
