A charming and wonderfully functional 19th-Century apprentice chest, scaled down but beautifully proportioned. This two-over-three drawer configuration mirrors full-sized furniture, with beaded drawers, turned knobs and bracket feet on the stiles giving it all the presence of a larger piece - just in miniature.
Perfectly suited to life on a dressing table or sideboard, it makes an excellent storage piece for jewellery, sewing accessories, keepsakes, fossils, coins, or any other curios. These apprentice pieces have a real following, and this one has that rare mix of style and practicality.
Condition Report
Excellent usable condition with minor age-related marks. Still holds a few odds and ends from its previous owner - mostly costume jewellery - which I’ve left in. A nice little touch of history.
The photographs form part of the condition report, so please review them carefully. Further images or a video viewing can be provided on request. Viewings are welcome at our Southampton unit, strictly by appointment.
