A warmly observed street scene by Hazel Farrell (b.1933), capturing the quiet bustle of a traditional fruit and veg stall. Likely painted in the 1980s or 1990s, it’s full of thoughtful detail - from handwritten paper signs to striped shirts and casual shoppers - a familiar slice of everyday life that’s already starting to feel distant.
Farrell had a talent for this kind of subject - local, human, and gently nostalgic. Signed lower left.
