A tall early 20th-century French column stand, finished in green paint with reeded shaft, rising to a giltwood Corinthian capital and square marble top. The base is formed with carved acanthus and beaded mouldings on a square plinth, set above a further square marble slab within an oak-framed base.
A composed classical form, intended to elevate and isolate a single object.
Condition Report
In excellent antique condition with wear commensurate with age. Minor paint loss to the reverse of the column. Light chips to the capital. The marble top shows a well-executed historic repair. Structurally sound and presents well.
