Pair Of Oak And Brass-Framed Tiled Emaux Ombrant Portraits

Early 20th-century oak and brass-framed tiled Emaux ombrant portraits of two prominent British figures:

Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig (1861–1928) - Commander-in-Chief of the British Expeditionary Force during the First World War.

David Lloyd George (1863–1945) - Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1916 to 1922.

Emaux ombrant is a decorative technique in which a faint image emerges through variations in the translucency of the glaze.

Condition Report

Both portraits are in excellent condition. The Haig tile has a barely noticeable glaze crack, which is entirely stable.
