A beautiful 18th-century oil on wooden panel, depicting a senior lady dressed in black with a delicate white lace bonnet. But who was she? A lady of the manor, a housekeeper, a beloved nanny? And was she in mourning, or was this simply the fashion of the time?
Whoever she was, this charming, characterful portrait is a timeless glimpse into the past. Housed in a giltwood frame, it exudes elegance and mystery.
