A striking near life-size pair of traditional Javanese Loro Blonyo figures, carved in wood and finished in the customary colour palette associated with these ceremonial sculptures. Loro Blonyo translates as “inseparable couple,” and the figures symbolise unity, harmony, and prosperity within marriage and the household.
The female figure is dressed in red and gold, the male in blue and gold, both wearing traditional headdress. Decorative, symbolic, and culturally significant, this is a compelling pair with real presence and narrative.
Condition Report
Both figures are in excellent vintage condition. Minor age-related cracks to the wood are present but purely cosmetic. Structurally sound throughout.
The photographs form part of the condition report, so please review them carefully. Further images or a video viewing can be provided on request. Viewings are welcome at our Southampton unit, strictly by appointment.
