A diminutive Regency-style chest of four long drawers, veneered in what is likely walnut. The proportions are particularly good — slightly larger than a typical bedside, but still compact enough to sit comfortably in that role.
As is often the case with pieces of this type, a closer look suggests this is a later assembly using earlier elements rather than a completely original Regency chest. That said, it has exactly the look and balance one would hope for: a moulded cornice, well-shaped bracket feet, and drawers fitted with good quality brass pulls.
Condition Report
There are a number of minor historic repairs throughout, along with a small veneer loss to the rear top, minor chips, and a split. All sit comfortably within the character of the piece and do little to detract from its overall presence.
The photographs form part of the condition report, so please review them carefully. Further images or a video viewing can be provided on request. Viewings are welcome at our Southampton unit, strictly by appointment.
