A beautifully proportioned pair of 19th century jointed oak stools with turned, splayed legs and traditional side stretchers with a central stretcher to each.
These are wonderfully versatile pieces - equally at home flanking a doorway, sitting either side of a window, or used as low stands for lamps, ceramics, or sculpture. They bring instant depth and texture to an interior.
The colour and surface are particularly pleasing, with the kind of quiet wear that only time produces. Honest signs of age throughout, including a solid historic split to one stretcher and minor historic worm to two legs. All entirely stable and commensurate with age.
A strong, decorative pair that balance rustic character with refined simplicity.
Condition Report
In excellent antique condition. One stretcher has a solid historic split. There is evidence of historic worm to two legs, likely present in the timber prior to construction. Minor marks and stains consistent with age. Structurally sound.
