A fine George III oak bedside commode, with a tray top and twin side handles, above a cupboard and commode drawer. The original commode aperture has been discreetly covered with a panel of oak, making the interior suitable for general storage while preserving the piece’s integrity. A superbly functional early piece, equally at home beside the bed or as a statement end table.
Condition Report
Excellent antique condition. Light wear consistent with age and use. There are traces of historic woodworm around the drawer, now treated as a precaution. Signs suggest additional handles may once have been fitted to the front and back edges of the tray top, though these are long absent.
