A great set of four Victorian knife back chairs with classic saddle seats, turned legs, and stretchers. Each of the chairs bears the maker's stamp, 'G.B', and the number '27' on the back of the seat. Beautiful timeworn patination, full of history and antique charm - if only they could talk.
Condition Report
Perfectly usable and absolutely solid. All but one have historic repairs around the legs, and all but one has the classic split in the elm seat where the backrest sits. One of the chairs was obviously kept a little too close to the hearth and has a chared back - and is all the more characterful for it. Wear and repairs as expected for their age.
